The autumn exhibition season in Azerbaijan will open with the 2nd Azerbaijan Regional Construction Exhibition, WestAzBuild

The autumn exhibition season in Azerbaijan will open with the 2nd International West Azerbaijan Infrastructure Exhibition, West Azerbaijan Infrastructure, and the 2^nd Azerbaijan Regional Construction Exhibition, WestAzBuild, which will take place in the Sports and Olympic Complex of Gandja on 22-24 September 2008. The exhibitions will open on ‘Gandja City Day’ and are included in the official events schedule published by the city’s executive authorities.

West Azerbaijan Infrastructure will gather together leading companies from the Western and North-Western regions, as well as the rest of Azerbaijan.  This year, the exhibition will host approximately 40 companies and will cover many industries including food, banking, insurance and leasing. The rapid development of the region has prompted many companies to expand their business activities in the region and take part in the exhibition. Participants will include: Azersun Holding, Fatoglu, Azercell, Bank Republic, Bank Azerbaijan, AtaBank, MBASK, Baki Sigorta (Baku Insurance), Garant Sigorta and Parex Leasing.

The construction sector, which will be presented at WestAzBuild, is experiencing a boom not only in Baku, but also in the other regions of Azerbaijan. Intensive construction of residential buildings is taking place in Gandja, Dashkesan, Shamkir, Gazakh, Khanlar, Yevlakh and other cities within the region. The development of the region makes it attractive both for local and foreign investors.  WestAzBuild will feature a wide variety of construction products and services including: construction materials, heating and ventilation, interiors, equipment, ceramics and stone, windows and doors, roofing and flooring. It will offer construction companies the opportunity to establish closer ties with business professionals in Gandja, discuss future projects and establish effective joint ventures.  Products will be presented by Akkord, Matanat-A, Kartash, Balakan Kerpich, Ghilyazi Kerpich, Arazplast, etc. will present their products.

The 2004-2008 State Programme for Regional Development in the North-West of Azerbaijan has now been successfully implemented. The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, has already begun discussions about the development of a new programme for 2009-2013. This programme will pay more attention to the development of the regions and one of its main aims is the renewal and modernisation of the road infrastructure, which is key for the region’s development and will lead to an increase in industrial output. A great deal of success has already been achieved in this area: large infrastructure projects are being developed and implemented all over the Republic, particularly in Gandja, which is the country’s second-largest city. These are all good reasons for holding an exhibition. West Azerbaijan Infrastructure and WestAzBuild aim to demonstrate the development of the region and Gandja’s economic potential, and promote cooperation between Gandja and other regions in Azerbaijan. They also create a forum for local business people and potential investors to exchange ideas and experiences, demonstrate the latest achievements in the industry and promote the use of up-to-date technologies, both at home and at work.

The exhibitions are officially supported by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Ministry of Agriculture of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Executive Authorities of Gandja, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Export and Investment Promotion Foundation in Azerbaijan and the Association of Gandja Entrepreneurs.
